Kentmere Fell - October 2010

6 hours

We parked one car near the Mortal Man in Troutbeck, and then went on to the Kirkstone Inn, on the Kirkstone Pass, where there is a public car park. Heading off from Kirkstone Pass, we went north for a while to Stoney Cove Pike, Threshthwaite Crag, Threshthwaite Mouth and on to the beacon at Thornthwaite Crag. From here we headed south along the ridge passingcFroswick (with Kentmere Reservoir to the east, Ill Bell) and Yoke before starting the long descent to Troutbeck. There is a large area enclosed by a deer fence, so the path goes beyond Troutbeck and then works its way down to the Caravan Park.
